The Melbourne Aquarium was opened in January, 2000 as a total entertainment facility, showcasing the creatures of the Southern Ocean.
The Aquarium is owned by the Melbourne Underwater World Trust, which is part of the international Oceanis Group, which also controls three other aquariums in Queensland, Shanghai and Busan.
The Melbourne Aquarium is located in the heart of the city of Melbourne, on the banks of the Yarra River. Its unique and contemporary design, both above and below the water, provided some fascinating challenges for the developer. |
